PS5 patch notes and update check

The PS5 patch note label is v1.009.000. If you searched for beast of reincarnation update ps5, first confirm the installed PS5 version before assuming a bug still exists. Highlight the game in the PS5 library, press the options button, choose Check for updates, then relaunch and compare the in-game version with the table above.

Fictions also maintains a separate current-version and download-help article. Those support pages can lag behind the newest patch-note article, so this page treats the dated patch notes as the primary source and uses the support pages only for update instructions.

What Patch 5 changed

The official notes list several player-facing changes:

  • More event scenes and cutscenes can be skipped, with coverage through the Great Wall Terraces zone.
  • Film Grain, Chromatic Aberration, and cutscene Post-Processing toggles are available on non-PC platforms.
  • Skills tied to flower nodes in the skill tree can be reset.
  • More Blighted Sprouts that yield SP were placed.
  • Ranged-weapon aiming input buffering and several Blade Art, Finisher, Nushi Skill, ranged-weapon, and Nushi behavior parameters were adjusted.
  • Koo detection, Koo’s Pounce Rate display, ultrawide event effects, map-marker display, Spirit Stone display, Cloud Streaming tutorial progression, charm overflow, and invisible-wall or collision issues received fixes.

The notes do not publish full before-and-after values for combat balance. Treat build or boss advice written before Patch 5 as version-sensitive until it is rechecked.

How to check for the latest update

  1. On PS5, highlight the game in the library, press the controller’s options button, and choose Check for updates.
  2. On Xbox Series, open Manage game and add-ons, then review its updates area.
  3. On Steam, use the Update button in the library when it appears and review progress in Library → Downloads.

After downloading, launch the game and confirm the displayed build number before deciding that a Patch 5 fix did not work.

What is still planned

The Patch 5 notes also describe future work: a difficulty mode above Hard, increased New Game+ difficulty options, auto-pickup for enemy drops, more skippable cinematics, more pacing adjustments, and more water-submersion or invisible-wall collision work. A planned item is not a shipped feature and has no guaranteed release date until later official notes confirm it.

Limits

This page does not equate a SteamDB changenumber, a download size, or a player report with the public game version. Platform rollout timing can vary, and Fictions’ own supporting articles are not always updated at the same time as the patch notes.
